LABUBU sparks global billion-dollar trendy toy craze

Labubu collectible toys have become a global sensation, igniting a wave of investor enthusiasm. On June 9th, Pop Mart's market value surged from HK$328.8 billion to HK$336.8 billion, gaining HK$8 billion in a single day. The company's 38-year-old founder, Wang Ning, has become the new richest person in Henan Province, with a net worth exceeding $20 billion, ranking among China's top ten wealthiest people.

Since 2025, Pop Mart's stock price has soared by 174%, increasing more than 11-fold since the beginning of 2024. According to the company's financial report, Pop Mart recorded 13.04 billion yuan in revenue in 2024, a 106.9% year-on-year increase.

In 2024, the overall market size of China's trendy toy industry exceeded 60 billion yuan. Not only are LABUBU's designers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), but its manufacturing and digital marketing are closely linked to the GBA.

LABUBU is a quintessential product of "GBA manufacturing", a Nordic forest elf figure designed by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. Meanwhile, its production and digital marketing are closely tied to the GBA.

According to information from "Dongguan Release," Dongguan became Pop Mart's main manufacturing base following the emergence of the first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) factory, contributing over 70% of the brand's production capacity. Moreover, 85% of all trendy toys in China are produced in Dongguan.

Dongguan boasts one of the world's most mature toy industry supply chains. It is home to six of Pop Mart's twelve top-tier suppliers, covering the entire process from mold development to intelligent manufacturing.

At the 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), a representative from Pop Mart said: "Outstanding original IP and global operational experience have significantly boosted the global influence of Chinese trendy toys. As our company continues to expand its global business, I believe more global consumers will fall in love with Chinese trendy culture."

LABUBU掀起全球千億潮玩風暴

席卷全球的潮玩LABUBU(拉布布)吸引了投資者熱潮。6月9日,泡泡瑪特市值從3288億港元漲到3368億港元,一日漲了80億港元。泡泡瑪特創始人、現年38歲的王寧以超200億美元身家成為河南新首富,邁入中國富豪榜前十。

今年以來,泡泡瑪特股價上漲174%,從2024年初至今漲幅超過11倍。公司財報顯示,2024年泡泡瑪特實作營收130.4億元,同比增長106.9%。

2024年,中國潮玩市場整體規模超過600億元。LABUBU的設計者不但來自灣區,生產制造、數位化行銷也與粵港澳大灣區密不可分。

LABUBU可以說是不折不扣的「灣區造」,是由中國香港藝術家龍家升創作的北歐森林精靈形象。同時,其生產制造、數位化行銷也與粵港澳大灣區密不可分。

根據「東莞釋出」的資訊介紹,隨著第一家代工廠的出現,東莞快速成為泡泡瑪特的主生產地,為後者提供了超70%的產能。同時,全國85%的潮玩產品從東莞誕生。

東莞擁有全球成熟的玩具產業鏈,聚集了12家泡泡瑪特優質供應商中的6家,覆蓋模具開發、智慧生產等全環節。

在深圳舉行的文博會上,泡泡瑪特相關負責人對外表示:「優秀原創IP和全球化營運經驗,讓中國潮玩的全球影響力不斷躍升。相信伴隨著集團全球化業務的不斷拓展,會有更多的全球消費者愛上中國潮流。」
